
Company Introduction


MTB uninterruptedly searches for new opportunities and with a strong foundation of devoted people, it developed into a group that employs 176 workers. Our company growth shows an extraordinary ability adapting to market changes. This adaptation is possible due to our professional staff and workers, who consider market changes a challenge, and not an obstacle.
In recent years Slovenia grew into a modern country with a strong, stable and growing economy. With economic growth, gross domestic product rose, and therefore the needs and wants of our customers and apartment buyers. The highest demand came from companies and commercial space users, since they led Slovenia into economic strength. Therefore the urban development highly appreciates quality construction. On the other hand, architectural design is very touchy, since buildings will mark the city centre for decades, but cannot overshadow the historical look of the city itself. Therefore MTB was chosen many times to solve delicate urbanistic problems connected with construction and salvation of Slovenian cities, especially Maribor.
Similar challenges occurred in development and construction of residential/commercial buildings, where tenants fully enjoy the cosines of their home in todays busy life. At the same time these residential areas do not diminish residential culture, what often happened during urban sleeping projects some decades ago.
The key to success depends on every component of our company. The basis are pleased workers and progressive leadership, to whom work represents satisfaction and challenge. Furthermore success is shown with the trust of our buyers, investors and creditors. So to say there are many keys to success, and throughout our business history we gathered vital experience, which helped with economic management and thrifty operation.
All savings originating from engineering and furniture sales, since 1997, were reinvested into company development, purchase of quality equipment, and employment of skilled workers. Bigger and demanding projects followed, and with accordance grew our financial-economic side of the company, which amounted to gross realization of 58,5 million EUR (€) in 2006. MTB constructed many buildings for known investors, as well as commercial and residential buildings for our own purposes. We are aware of long term visions in construction business, therefore we planned and prepared ample projects for upcoming years including manufacturing plants, commercial buildings and more than 600 apartments; whereas all projects are built in accordance to market demands.
To achieve previous and upcoming goals major reorganization of MTB group was necessary. We acquired GP PTUJ, a construction company which strengthened our operative department.
With the acquisition we also became owners of Pleterje aggregate pit with separation, concrete mixing plant, and a concrete laboratory. Simultaneously we strengthened MTB GRADNJE IN OPREMA (MTB Construction and Equipment) with new suppliers and sales of construction materials and equipment, hydro and thermo isolation materials, and all other products found in construction. In 2003 we acquired company IDILA, which sews primarily ties and other fashion add-ons. Newest to the MTB group is company ISTRAPROJEKT. Its main activity is real estate trade in Slovenia and Croatia.
We reorganized the administrative and managerial structure of MTB group, to enable individual segments to work independently, fast, qualitative and connected. This enabled once a small company to grow into a modern group, which with its history, experience, and new ideas operates dependable year after year.
